This drama is adapted from Fu Hua’s novel,《梅夫人宠夫日常》。

The Drama Meter’s translation of the official synopsis on JJWXC: That famously unmarried old lady from the Wu family in Chang-an married a steady, upright, and honest young man. And though the two appeared to be decent enough people on the surface, in fact. . . one was a cat demon, and the other was a Taoist priest.

In other words:

The cat demon gets married. So does the Taoist priest. Much petting of cats ensues.

The author, 扶华 (Fu Hua), also wrote the source novel for Long for Fish (Chen Feiyu, Wang Yinglu).

The director, 侣皓吉吉 (Lü Haojijij), also directed The Double (Wu Jinyan, Wang Xingyue).

The co-production company, Linmon Pictures, is also responsible for The King’s Avatar (Yang Yang, Jiang Shuying), Under the Skin (Tan Jianci, Jin Shijia), and In Between (also starring Tian Xiwei).

Filming started in January 2024 and ended May 2024.
